I'm from Maine and have eaten scallops across New England area restaurants and can say the scallops at this restaurant are SUPERIOR to any back home hands down! Cole slaw mash potatoes crab cakes are delicious also!

Food was great, service was great, but I just don't understand what all the he hype is about. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out to me that said "it's worth waiting for" or "I'd drive across town to eat here"

Wow! Had the lunch special which is 1 meat 2 sides (or 3 sides for bigger appetites). Got the fried cat fish. (Had to wait about 5 mins more as it's made when ordered - like who really cares about 5 mins like that). The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly! Not greasy just deep fried Perfection! Our waitress was very nice and very sweet. She was quick to answer questions for us northerners and helpful. We had never heard of tomato pie so she explained it. I am still on the fence about it. Don't totally dislike it but not sure how much I like it either. Hubs had fried shrimp (a standard item as items change often for lunch special). Shrimp were large. Not a giant portion but not a small one either. Just right for lunch. Cute inside. We went on a Tuesday and it was packed! It's simple food done very well. Nothing fancy but a very good meal at a good price ($11 or $12 I forget). Service very good wait staff help each other which is very nice. Will def go back.

The food is good ole country cooking for an amazing price! It's a great place to dine & affordable if you have kids. The menu has something for everyone! You are served the most delicious hush puppies when seated while your food is being prepared. I've had the shrimp, fish, fried chicken (), fried oysters, veggies & desserts! All are delicious & ample servings! The staff is so pleasant , patient & kind. The atmosphere is quaint & clean & it's a locals go to & a beach favorite! You typically have a little wait, but they have ample covered seating outside while you do. During the summer the wait may be a bit longer, but it's well worth it!

The food was amazing and fresh. The hush puppies are to die for. Our service was quick and pleasant. We did have to wait a bit outside for a table but our weather was great so the time passed quickly. The waiting area is weather safe so no need to worry about that. The shrimp and fries were delicious as well as my wife's chicken salad. A must is their dessert so don't leave without trying them. The atmosphere was very friendly and quaint, like being at a family outing. A must do when visiting and it's a local favorite.

Isabella (Issy) was our wonderful waitress. She was very attentive. The food is definitely country cooking and won't break the bank if you bring the family. The ambiance is country too. I had the special grilled fish with mashed potatoes and cabbage. Delicious! Two in our party had the fried chicken and one had the country steak. (Unfortunately while it tasted good, he found a couple of bones. He had this before with no problems.) Country cooking is the absolute best if you like that.

Excellent. Grilled scallops, sweet potato fries, hush puppies, slaw and service were all excellent. My only recommendation would be to add draft beer.
